Hello! MOONPR1SM.com is my website, and moonpr1sm is my name. (I know, very creative of me.) I also go by Lauren.
In January of 2023 I decided this would be a better way to share my art and other stuff online than using something like Instagram or TikTok. Since then, I've been using this place as a personal archive. It feels more like a scrapbook/diary than a portfolio, but I guess it could be looked at as that too!
Currently, I use Neocities as my host. There are a TON of cool and creative people on here! (and you can check out my Links page for a few ideas!) It doesn't have the same feel as social media, but there is a social element to it. For example, you can follow other websites and there is a feed to show you their updates.
I wonder if personal websites, which were once the norm, are making a comeback now because of the enshittification issues that plague much of the surface-level internet. If you ask me I'd say: Google is useless, AI slop is everywhere, all the feeds are or end up as ads upon ads upon ads...and it just is not fun. It feels gross.
But hope is not lost! There are still real human beings being real human beings here in cyberspace. I want you to look at my art and I want to look at yours! Also, if you haven't already, how about getting involved yourself? Making a website is rewarding and I promise you don't have to be a master of coding to make something cool.
